The Darkening is a bad omen or sign that the Church of Belenus considers to occur when Belenus wishes to show a sign of disfavor with a particular course of action. It is marked by the Eye of Belenus becoming blotted out by darkness. In 626 BC on the outlander land of the Great Kingdom of Avonleigh when Alexi Shadowborn attempted to join the Knights of the Circle.[1] This was not because Alexi was not worthy, rather it was because rather he had a more important calling: the imprisonment of Ebonbane within Shadowborn Manor.[2]
