The Temple of Set is a winding system of passageways beneath the Catacombs of Deir el Medina. Here is where the serpent folk remnants of the original people of Deir el Medina dwell, their ancestors having been transformed by the "blessings" of Set following their retreat underground. The Temple also contains their spawning pits, massive farms of rats and mice, natural chambers where the reptile population has been brought from the surface. The reptile pits carry moisture for the surface and thus enable the reptiles to survive. The exception is the Well of Souls.[1]
