Tash, the Rooster From Hell, is a chicken that was, along with many other farm animals, given sentience by a druidic ritual cast by a well-intentioned boy hoping to end the consumption of animal meat by humans. Although the ritual was successful, it warped some of the animals and turned them evil in the process. Tash was one such creature; he became a human-sized pyrolisk (a cockatrice breed whose gaze can transform people into ash.) Tash persuaded his fellow farm animals to rise upon against the humans and wipe them out. Thereby Tash became the darklord of his farm and the surrounding lands that together make up his domain. Tash lords over his new subjects as a tyrant, which has led some of the animals to wish for liberation by humans.[1]
