| A Kender Vampire is a kender who has returned from death via the Kender Vampire [[:category:vampire strain|strain]] of [[vampire|vampirism]]. This strain only affects kenders, hence all Kender Vampires are both [[Kender]]s and [[Vampire]]s, but not all Vampires who are Kenders are affected by this strain. It is possible for a Kender to contract another strain of vampirism, including the basic version. To avoid this confusion, (and avoid mention of the [[w:Dragonlance]] term "kender" in the 3.5 edition [[Gazetteer IV]]) creatures affected by this strain are also called ''bitterkinder''.
