The Slain consist of the living who were caught in the negative energy wave of the Requiem that swept across greater Il Aluk and transformed them to their last into intelligent undead of diverse types. The Slain are overwhelmingly former inhabitants of Darkon. The inhabitants of Necropolis or the Necropolitans are overwhelmingly constituted of the Slain. The Slain are mostly corporeal undead: necropolitan skeletons, necropolitan zombies,and necropolitan wights. Incorporeal undead among the Slain are necropolitan shadows. Those of the Slain with feeding requirements that cannot, or can no longer, be met within the Shroud are by far those most prone to be found wandering outside it. The Slain are ruled by Death.
