A corpse is a dead body. But it is one from which the life has fled in the not distant past, which is to stipulate that the body needs to be more than a skeleton. Humanoid corpses, which is to say cadavers, are much sought after by Departments of Medicine, medical researchers like chiurgeons, necromancers, and flesh golemcrafters, as well as by ghouls. A corpse may walk again by being granted undeath. Generally, the flesh of a corpse granted undeath as a zombie or other walking dead ceases to disintegrate, such that the creature does not, in the end, resemble a skeleton.
