| The dread snow golem is a large [[dread construct]] born of [[dark desire]]. It is nowise a [[mindless]] automaton, being created with the [[dread golem template]] and being at once [[conscious]] and [[self-conscious]]. The creature may be given an oversized [[humanoid]] shape or that of some creature native to an icy region. [[Meredoth]], the [[darklord]] of [[Todstein]], does not make dread snow golems. He is, however, the [[Inventor (monstrous)|inventor]], a little prior to [[635 BC]], of the [[snow golem]], tales of which, not [[before 642 BC]] and more likely after [[737 BC]], may have inspired [[Dread Crafter|makers]] of dread snow golems.
