Unworked stone is stone in its natural state, not having been cut, polished, or otherwise deliberately modified. The distincion is of metaphysical importance to the dwarven race. A hulzurdan ("dwarven vampire"), for example, can only arise from the remains of a dwarf interred within stone that has not been cut.
