Worked stone is stone that is no longer in its natural state, having been cut, polished, or otherwise deliberately modified. The distincion is of metaphysical importance to the dwarven race. A hulzurdan ("dwarven vampire"), for example, cannot arise from the remains of a dwarf interred within stone that has been cut.
