Little Borchava River

The Little Borchava River lies north of the Borchava River in northwestern Nova Vaasa. It flows out of the nothingness of the Shadow Rift, which is to say that it has its phantom headwaters in the vanished land of Markovia. It rushes down out of the Vaesen Foothills and onto the Elendighedmark ("Plain of Misery"), joining the Borchava River well south of Liara. The Borchava then bends to the northeast, joining the Vaughn Dnar River halfway between Liara and Kantora. The Vaughn Dnar continues east by southeast, passing just north of Kantora, and merges there with the Dnar River, becoming at that point the Sydligdnar, which drains into the Nocturnal Sea just north of Egertus beside the port of Guldstrand Beach via the Katsmund Canyon. Faerhaaven, the strongly fortified seat of the Hiregaard family, overlooks the Little Borchava River.

There is reason to suspect that the Borchava River may be a sufficiently broad and deep river to be both possible to navigate and difficult to ford. The only indication concerning the Little Borchava River is that it is presumably smaller than its big sister. In any case, the Little Borchava River should probably not be navigable up river beyond the edge of the Vaesen Foothills.

The Little Borchava River is an important source of water for crops, humans, domestic animals, and wild animals. Farmland stretches back from its banks from the end of the Vaesen Foothills to its termination in the Borchava River. The farms are lightly taxed, relatively speaking, by the Hiregaards. The Borchava River belongs to the Borchava Duchy of the Hiregaard family.
