Pierce Decker was a philosopher who was to attend the lecture given by Professor Abraham Van Helsing in Boston. Like Van Helsing, Dekker had been kidnapped by the illithid drones, but Van Helsing freed him as he escaped. However, Dekker's liberation turned out to come to late, as Dekker transformed into one of the illithid drones. He began murdering sailors of the ship they had retreated to from the drones while Van Helsing had entered a trace to read an illithid book. However, Van Helsing put Dekker down before the latter could destroy the professor.[1]
