Petchko is the son of Callian[1] and nephew of Marda[2]. He is a former member of the Church of Zhakata. Before Yagno Petrovna Petchko was turned him into a mongrelman, Petchko was guilty of no transgression save for appearing to threaten Yagno's power. Post transformation, Petchko worked actively against the priests of Zhakata, providing spiritual guidance to the Outcasts becoming involved with The Circle of Darkness. The motivation for most of his acts to regain some amount of face and relieve himself of the shame he feels for his transformation.[1]

In the end, he was transformed into one of the Altered by the Provider.[3] However, unlike the majority of the other Altered, he seems to have retained a will of his own.[4]
