A character from the Tapestry of Dark Souls novel, Sondra resided in Tepest but originally came from Gundarak, escaping that domain as she could to reunite with her father Ivar (of Tepest). There she would meet, fall in love with, and marry a boy named Jonathan, and in so doing, become tangled up in the plot of Morgoth to take over Tepest.

Prior to the final events of The Tapestry of Dark Souls novel, Sondra assisted Ivar in the harvest of cloudberry at the winery, mainly by baking food for the cloudberry harvesters.[1] Though Ivar practiced magic, Sondra never wished to learn, linking it to the death of her mother.[2]

History

Sondra's mother, Sara, was pregnant with Sara when Ivar and his sister (Sondra's aunt), Dirca, fled Gundarak. With Dirca and Ivar settled in Tepest, Ivar ultimately hoped to return for Sara and Sondra and take them to Tepest after Sondra was born.[3] However, things did not work out according to plan. Ivar had left several copper coins to Sara that he had magically disguised as gold. However, Duke Gundar discovered the deception and confiscated everything she owned. As further punishment, he outlawed anyone from giving her assistance. Although other relatives presumably took care of Sondra, Sara herself was left her to die of starvation.[2] Fortunately, Sondra was able to escape to Tepest in approximately 734 BC.[4]

When out looking for her missing friend, Arlette, Sondra was ambushed by goblins. She was saved by wolves seemingly summoned by Jonathan, who took her hand and helped her escape.[5] Following Jon's arrival in Linde, Sondra and Jon became quite close as she helped him become acquainted with life in Line. They eventually married.[6]

Jon's arrival did not bring only happiness. It exacerbated Dirca's already existing antipathy towards Sondra, for whom she now rivaled for Jon's affections, albeit of a completely different nature.[7] Moreover, Miysha, a rival of Jon for the affection of Sondra[8] After a fight erupted between Miysha and Jonathan, Miysha enlisted the aid friends (Alden and Josef) to ambush Jon and beat him near to death. Miysha then ordered Alden and Josef to take Jon out into the wilds to leave as a sacrifice for the gobiins.[9] Although that attempt failed, Miysha used his skill of gossip to spread rumors about Jon's involvement about a string of murders going about town.[10] h
