Following the liberation of Forfar from Merionite Rule and the dissolution of the Kingdom of Firfair into various baronies, including the Barony of Forfar. Clan ApBlanc, as the most powerful clan within the area, became the leaders of the Barony of Forfar. Donnan ApBlanc was the first native Baron of Forfar and began a dynasty that lasted 641 years.[1]
Clan ApBlanc consisted of the ApBlanc family and numerous other families, the names and histories of which are contained in the Clan ApBlanc (Book)[2]
