In Curse of Strahd
In the 5th Edition remake and reinterpretation of the class Ravenloft module, Donavich has been driven to the brink of madness by the murder and reeanimation of his son as a vampire spawn. Strahd sent Doru back to the Village of Barovia to taunt and gaslight Donavich in an effort to crumple the priest's sanity and put an end to his church.
