The soul focus was a talisman crafted to recollect the dispersed essence of Azalin Rex during the Shrouded Years. Initially Azalin had contacted Oldar Wahldrun and Bailitor to complete it, but they lacked the necessary magical skill to complete it. Thus, Tavelia was brought in. However, she discovered its true nature and sought to corrupt the process and force Azalin to be her husband and thrall. fortunately, the soul focus was stolen from her crypt near Martira Bay and taken to Castle Avernus, whereupon it was united with Azalin's Phylactery and the soul essence transferred, putting Azalin into the bones of Irik Zal'honan (Son).[1]
