A fire opal is a rare and valuable type of gem occassionally extracted by dwarven miners in the mines at the base of Mount Nirka in Darkon. They can supposedly be used as part of a ritual to escape the Demiplane of Dread, though the truth of this claim is as of yet unverified[1]
