Karrnathi skeletons are intelligent skeletons skilled in war tactics and the use of weapons and armor. They hail from the outlander world of Eberron and are creations of Karrnath. Animated from superior Karrnathi soldiers, Karrnathi skeletons make up an important part of the Karrnathi armies.[1]

Knowledge of the Karrnathi skeleton was brought to the Demiplane of Dread with Clavius Kreel, a Karrnathi necrologist and researcher. Some time prior to the Requiem, Kreel presented a wagon of Karrnathi skeletons, along with other unusual undead, to Azalin Rex in Darkon. It was noted that he had augmented a number of them, seemingly with a number of salient abilities. A "research facility" on these undead is said to have been established near Karg, as Azalin has expressed his approval of Kreel's discoveries in future war efforts against Falkovnia.[2]

It has been suggested that the Karrnathi skeleton qualifies as an Obedient Dead according the Walking Dead typology in Van Richten's Guide to the Walking Dead . Likely salient abilities include Fearsome Speed, Ghastly Wings, Leaping, and Spider Climb.[3]
