The Create Darkenbeast spell allows a single other spell cast by the spellcaster to become "imprinted" on the darkenbeast to be cast later as a spell-like ability. However, using its spell-like ability kills the darkenbeast.[1] As chosen ones exist in Hazlan[2], 
it is highly likely that the Create Darkenbeast spell made its debut there via Hazlik.
