A supporting character from Death of a Darklord, Gersalius is a wizard and the mentor for Elaine Clairn. For example, he taught her the ability of mind reading.[1]
Background
Gersalius is an outlander[2]. In his youth, he was a thief, going by the handle of Gersalius Catpaw. However, he quit when his mother threatened to slice off his ears.[3] (Gersalius admitted that although his mother knew how to make very frightening threats, he did not recall that she had ever so much as switched him or his siblings. One may assume, then, that it was more a desire not to displease his mother than actual fear that motivated him to change careers.)
