In the hinterlands of Sanguinia, menhirs and similar monuments attest to the existence of mountain tribes who seem to have vanished from the land.[1]

The hillfolk of Sanguinia have not fully vanished. Many of them slumber in the Seven Sacred Caves beneath the Kodru Mountains, waiting for the great evil to pass from their land. Others remain awake, but they inhabit the western reaches of the domain, far from the towns of Sanguinia.[2]
