Although Gennadi Mardari was born in Fagarus, he travelled widely throughout Sanguinia before settling down in Tirgo. Eventually he became a councilor of Tirgo, making his money in timber and ore. He married and started a family, but unfortunately his wife and child both died during the pregnancy. For years afterward Gennadi Mardari fell frequent victim again to the wanderlost of his youth.[1]
One winter Gennadi Marddari found himself caught in a snowstorm, and he entered the first cave which promised shelter. The cave appeared to be dabandoned—at least as far as Mardari dared explore—except for a frozen corpse curled up around the book. Mardari took the book and set to work deciphering it, eventually discovering that he had come into the possession of a tome of mephit summoning. Since then, Mardari has become a skilled conjurer of ice mephits.[1]
