Slippery Siv was once an arrogant burglar who stole a small statue that Azalin desired. For this transgression he was polymorphed into a mongrelman and locked into the Room of Alteration in Castle Avernus with several others (including Coryn, Rose, and Milarn) who had drawn Azalin's ire. His time of entrapment left him a cowardly man who would betray anyone to save his own skin. 
Slippery Siv may have been found by adventurers in 740 who were on their way to inadvertently beginning the Grand Conjunction, but even if he was rescued it is highly unlikely that Azalin let him leave Castle Avernus alive.
