Captain Garvyn is, as of 734 BC, captain of The Endurance. He had been cursed by the Dark Powers for dumping in the seathe corpses of Madeline Stern, Jacob, and Charlotte Reisland which he had promised to deliver to Todstein. His ship, The Endurance, became in consequence the Ship of Horrors and remained so until the curse was broken in 737 BC, whereupon the captain and his ship were returned to whence they had come beyond the Mists.
