A corpse is a dead body. But it is a body from which the life has fled in the not distant past, which is to stipulate that the body needs to be more than skeleton. Humanoid corpses, which is to say cadavers, are much sought after by Departments of Medicine, medical researchers like chiurgeons, necromancers, and flesh golemcrafters, as well as by ghouls. A corpse may walk again by being granted undeath. Generally, the flesh of a corpse granted undeath as a zombie or other walking dead ceases to disintegrate, such that the creature does not, in the end, resemble a skeleton.
