The dread snow golem is a large magical animated construct. It is a mindless automaton that obeys as best it can the exact orders of its maker, drawing no conclusions and taking no initiative. When issuing instructions to the animate thing, its maker is wise to error on the side of simplicity. The creature may be given an oversized humanoid shape or that of some creature native to an icy region. Meredoth, the darklord of Todstein, responsible for the invention of the related snow golem.

Construction

The successful maker of a dread snow golem is is an arcane spellcaster of at least the 17th level. He or she pours 30,000 gp into bringing his or her idea to "life". Of this total, 50 gp are spent fashioning the thing's body, which takes one week and a successful Craft (carving or sculting) check (DC 15). The ultimate animation of the thing requires ? XP from the caster and the casting of the following spells: animate objects, limited wish, transmute stone to snow

chain lightning, fabricate, grease,
