They are a water-powered machine, the waterwheel residing in a sloping sewer channel. The cost and time required for the construction of the Puppetworks should not be underestimated. They are one of the greatest mechanical achievements in the Land of Mists. Their creator, Madame Araby Tuvache, has reason to be proud. As entertainment, they would be one of the wonders of the known world. As a weapon, they are perhaps the least cost efficient means of inflicting harm in existence, although there is some prospect of provoking horror when it is realised that each puppet is actually a carefully preserved corpse.
