Michael Ratcliff is a werewolf who was born as part of a litter of three in 706 BC to Richard Ratcliff, probably not a werewolf, and Virginia Dilisnya, a werewolf. His sister is Winifred Ratcliff. His grandfather is Richtor Dilisnya, not a werewolf, and Esther Timothy, a werewolf and a great aunt of Alfred Timothy. He is a second cousin of Alfred Timothy who is also his sister's husband. He married Charlotte Winchester.
