Martine Garrett was the cook of Burton Wescote and resided in Wescote Manor. In 743 BC, her employer, the last of the Wescotes, died. Her fate is unknown but she is presumed have sought employment in the service of another Mordentish family. She is an excellent cook, but a miserable colleague, seeking to better her situation with her employer by worsening that of her fellow employees.]
