Natural philosophers practice natural philosophy which is the analysis, as opposed to the description, of nature. Whereas natural historians practice natural history which is the description, as opposed to analysis, of nature. Natural philosophers are precursors of chemists and physicians who only begin to emerge in their own right in Renaissance age cultures.
