Mae Upton was the mother of Jimmy Upton[1] and a resident of Stangrengrad[2]. They made their living as thieves. In order to secure a good fortune for herself and her son, she manipulated him into stealing Reston's Folly from Fennelstock, telling Jimmy that Fennelstock had actually stolen it from her. Jimmy succumbed to the curse of Reston's Folly, rendering him incorporeal.[3] Mae died before a cure could be found, but she rose again as a ghost, hoping to manipulate some {{PC|passers by]] into helping her son.[2]
