In life, Imhotep mastered many sciences and arts. And he also was the high priest in the service to King Djoser. Yet this mastery was not enough; Imhotep sought the secrets of immortality. His experiments for King Djoser ultimately led to the Red Death being called into the world. The Red Death gave Imhotep his immortality, but enslaved him as well.[1]

Centuries later, Imhotep and King Djozer were mystically imprisoned by King Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti. However, in the modern era, Imhotep has found that he can escape during dawn and dusk. He can manifest his presence anywhere his likeness or his name is written.[1]

Imhotep carries the Staff of Apep, a unique staff and artifact.[2]
