Hareton Lockwood is one of the dead members Lockwood Family who is trapped one of the ghostly inhabitants of Lockwood Manor. He was a terribly vile and evil man in life, having murdered his baby brother (at the age of 8), a rival suitor to a lover, and his elder brother Torrence Lockwood, and a large number of other people. The breaking point came when he betrayed a business partner named Godfrey by locking him in the cellar to perish. Ironically, Angelique Lockwood used the corpse of Godfrey to scare a maddened Hareton to death.[1]

Hareton currently inhabits the library of Lockwood Manor, eternally reading the horror stories that inspired him so much.[2]
