Bernard Foquelaine was the Lord-Governor of Dementlieu. He was beheaded on his own guillotine in 707 BC in repayment for his oppression of the peasantry. His very existence, however, may well belong to false history. In any case, he was succeeded by Lord-Governor Chambon.[1]
