In Mordentish legend, the Pale Lady was the bride of the Ashen Man awaiting his return from the sea. When he was killed in a storm due to the indiscretions of a Holsworth Family ship captain, she committed suicide by jumping to her death into the rocks of Arden Bay in her bridal gown. She and her groom would later become associated with Ashen Man Cliffs and the Pale Lady Cliffs.[1]
