Jimmy Upton is the son of Mae Upton[1] and a resident of Stangengrad.[2] He made a living as a thief, but one of scruples and honor, stealing just enough for he and his mother to get by. Mae wanted a more secure future as she aged, so she manipulated Jimmy into stealing (or attempting to steal) Reston's Folly from Fennelstock. Mae concocted a story to make Fennelstock the villain. In the process of the burglary, Jimmy became cursed by the amulet and therefore stuck in an incorporeal state.[3] The experience nearly alienated him completely from Fennelstock, which would have prevented Jimmy from ever finding a method of escape from the curse of Reston's Folly.[4] Fortunately, Fennelstock seems to have rid Jimmy of the cursed necklace, judging by the fact that, as of 757 BC, they appeared to have established a business called Fennelstock & Upton that specializing in undoing the effects of cursed magic items.[5]

Jimmy Upton and the the adventure that entails his reconciliation (or lack there of) with Fennelstock can be found in Children of the Night: Ghosts[4]
