Cynthia DeGrieves (NPC)

Cynthia DeGrieves was once to be the Vampire Companion of Baron Metus, but Rudolph van Richten killed him. As fallout of his death, Cynthia transformed into a vorlog. Cynthia vowed revenge against van Richten, searching high and low for him. However, due to the nature of the vorlog, Cynthia would often become sidetracked with a surrogate in Metus' likeness.

A strange cloud of mist would always slay her would-be lovers. After the death of her lover, she would return to fruitlessly tracking van Richten, followed by finding another surrogate, and then the strange mist would kill her lover. It was from this repeating cycle that Cynthia DeGrieves was afflicted with a phobia for the Mists and the Misty Border.

Eventually, Cynthia became more skilled in evading the mysterious Mist that kept chasing her. She met a Nidalan man with a physical resemblance to Metus. This man's name was Conrad Shadowlands. The pair courted each other for a time before Cynthia began to fall out of love with him and the Mist caught up with them. Conrad's death, either to the Mist or to Cynthia herself seemed imminent, if not for the interference of adventurers. Said adventurers revealed the Mist to actually be Metus himself, come back as a jealous Crimson Death. After the Crimson Death was destroyed, Cynthia was forced to flee.

Later on, Cynthia began researching how to bring Metus back again. She is establishing a cult to Evening Glory, goddess of eternal love through undeath, in order to create the conditions necessary to bring back Baron Metus once again.

Cynthia's emotions, goals, and M.O. will differ depending on where in her timeline the [[PC[[s will encounter her.
