The Custodian is a strange bastellus (even for its kind) that feeds primarily on Reymond S.. Peculiarly for a bastellus, the creature serves as a guardian and a way of transportation for Reymond. Its motives for performing these tasks are unknown; perhaps it serves as an agent for the Dark Powers. The Custodian may or may not be responsible for the death of Young Master Leopold and the theft of his corpse.[1]
