Professor Abraham Van Helsing

Professor Abraham Van Helsing is a Dutch vampire hunter and monster hunter and a nemesis to Dracula. He is also the leader of Die Wächtern.

In 1893, Professor Van Helsing encountered s dread illithid scourge shortly after delivering a lecture in Boston. He met with his friend Dr. Myron DeLeo, whom had been secretly transformed in an illithid thrall by an illithid leech. Although Van Helsing killed DeLeo and escaped, he was soon overwhelmed by more of DeLeo's kindred. Kidnapped and taken to their lair, Van Helsing used magic to escape his bonds and free another prisoner, Pierce Decker. Together they escaped the lair of the illithid along with a book that held their history. They returned to Hotel McCready and then chartered a merchant ship. where Van Helsing translated the tome and learned of the history of the Alhoon of Gothic Earth, how it had betrayed its kind, mastered magic, and had biomanced the creation of the Illithid Drone and Illithid Leech.

As Van Helsing came out of his trance, he found that Pierce Dekker had changed to an Illithid Drone and killed the sailors of the ship. After a harrowing encounter, Van Helsing killed Pierce and escape, spreading the lore to monster hunters all over.
