A liberator fights that the chains of of slaves might be broken and the oppressed might rise up and seize for themselves the freedom of self-government. Such individuals are vanishing few in the Land of Mists for such revolutionary notions find precious little fertile ground. Few lands have middle classes to speak of. The poor in most lands cannot imagine such a thing. And the rich in those same lands would not image it. Indeed discussion of reform and of enlightened despotism has barely taken root in a handful of lands. Only in Souragne, where slavery has ended, and in Paridon, where a sense of worth is attributed to the individual, would a liberator appear as ought other than a madman to those to be liberated.
