The Circle is a neutral good qabal on Gothic Earth[1] and may have been descendant of the Stone. The Circle lost most of its power during the Salem Witch Trials with the deaths of many of its members, but the few members still surviving has carry on their work in New England.[2] The deaths came as a result of a conflict between the Circle and Zemlak the Destroyer, a fiend of unknown nature that leaked the identities of the Circle's members to Salem's authorities. The people of Salem had no idea they were the tools of a great evil.[3]
