H.H. Holmes (no relation to Sherlock Holmes) was a very skilled doctor but also a ruthless serial killer, having murdered, mutilated, and tortured a number of people between 25-200 in the World's Fair Hotel, what he called his "torture palace". On Gothic Earth, his sadistic pleasure he gains from such horrors draw him closer and closer to the embrace of the Red Death. He may already be a a servant of demilord rank.^[1]
