At the behest of King Oderic, his unnamed mistress captured the soul of Marquis Stezen d'Polarno in a painting using an evil variant of the Trap the Soul spell. The soul transference did not take away his life, but his zestful spirit and grandstanding charisma. Stezen poisoned her, along with the rest of King Oderic's household, as revenge.[1]

In Quoth the Raven #22, the Fraternity of Shadows (Real World) gave King Oderic's mistress a name and identity of Lady Annelise. She is not deceased, but rather lives on as a ghost.[2]
