Said to have been a mechanical wonder[1], the Engine House was the source of power for the lifts and other such mechanical devices in the Veidrava Salt Mines. Despite the story that the source of power was purely mechanical, the source in fact was biological. A stone giant imprisoned in the Engine House used wheels and chains to operate the various mechanical devices within the mine. However, only Azrael Dak and his most trusted pit bosses were ever allowed to go near the Engine House.[2]
Nabon languished there, his legs rendered useless to prevent escape[3], for 5 long years, from the time of his capture 747 BC[2] to the time of his release and healing by the Bloody Cobbler in 752 BC.[4] The Engine House itself was later destroyed in the Night of Screaming Shadows[1]
