The umbral buyan, alternatively, the shadow bunyan, is a type of carnivorous plant native only to the Shadow Rift and the Plane of Shadow. The shadow bunyan attacks its prey by using its dark tendrils to strangle them.[1] Details on this creature can be found within the Manual of the Planes (3.0), may be encountered in the Shadow Rift[2].
