Cortton is a village in Kartakass. It is ruled by Meistersinger Simon LeBec and the Town Council of Cortton. Cortton was once a much larger place, but a population drop has caused the dead in the graveyards to outnumber the living in the village proper.[1]
Such an imbalance between the living and the dead made it easy for Marland Ashe to start a a zombie plague where the undead vastly outnumber the living. He also poisoned the water with a disease agent that caused those to die in Cortton to rise again as zombies.[2] Fortunately, Jonathan Ambrose discovered Marland's activities and set fire to his zombie-filled lair.[3] Elaine Clairn and Gersalius purified the water supply.[4]
