Merion was the homeland of the Merionites, the people that invaded and conquered the ancient Kingdom of Firfair in year . It neighbored what later came to be known as the March of Goteer. The Goteeran connections with the Merionites planted a seed of animosity that would bring Goteer into conflict with the Barony of the Western Highlands and Barony of Forfar much, much later.[1]
