Lady Larom" is a character from the Tales of Ravenloft: Undefiled short story. Se was a mage, undead hunter, and the sister of Lord Tenet. They were badly injured in the fight against Crave, a vampire in Estrangia. Lord Tenet brought the unconscious Lady Larom to the Temple of White Hope. There, they received healing from Friar Whelm, but neither he nor any of his congregation would go with Tenet to finish off the wounded vampire. Lord Tenet left alone and subsequently perished at the hands of the vampire. After Tenet's funeral, Larom joined the congregation of Friar Whelm.
Although he seemed but a harmless priest, Whelm was secretly a vile undead entity that fed off the "energy" of his congregation. (What kind of energy is not specified, though Larom's hair was graying after the funeral despite her being only 17.) He was able to gather a huge amont from Larom, more than he had in centuries. Larom, nor any of his other parishioners, are aware of his feeding.
