Oreaux

Minor character from Carnival of Fear. Oreaux is a fortuneteller and alleged seer that performed at Carnival l'Morai. Settina was one of his wives and also his primary interpreter.

Biography

Supposedly, Oreaux had been given the power of prophecy as an oracle, but the visions also driven him mad. He was attended by several wives. Settina was his first wife and served as his interpreter, for in his madness he could be incoherent. Furthermore, he was restrained in a chair so as to not injure himself or others.

During the search for Dominick the Butcher, he called Dominick to the presence of Marie the Blind Juggler, Morcastle, and Hermos, whom tried to apprehend the butcher for the alleged murders of several carnival freaks. Later, during Carnival l'Morai's war for freedom from the City of l'Morai and the Puppetmaster, all of Oreaux's wives were killed save for Settina. Marie attempted to enlist Oreaux's gift of prophecy for a course of action, though the war had obscured his sight. As interpreted by Satina, he said all the rebels would lose their lives in the wake of Marie's rebellion.
