Because Rotwald locals don't show a breach of the typical Valachani stoic endurance, some rumor has been spreading that angry ghosts from Rotwald's bloody past or contaminated drinking water from the Gold River are to blame. In truth, it is the witches of Hala and the Tales of Ages that has been responsible; they have secretly been using it to periodically dispel Von Kharkov's mind control.
